Early Work or Education
Many
people say that the only way to guarantee getting a good job is to complete a
course of universities education. Others claim that it is better to start work
after school and gain experience in the world of work. How far do you agree or
disagree with the above views?
In our
times, it is widely deemed that job opportunities can be seized by means of an outstanding
academic profile. Nonetheless, there are those who contend that experience outweigh
academic achievements in certain cases. In this sense, whether an individual
working early without completing a degree is beneficial or detrimental is yet
to be ascertained.
First
and foremost, being acknowledged to be prime professionals in society, doctors
and lawyers enjoy stable and gainful income. It is evident that without
university qualifications, students are by no means allowed to pursue a career
as doctors or lawyers. Furthermore, it is a common occurrence that degree
holders are sought after. Needless to say, this is commonly seen in a vast
majority of business’ employment advertisements. As a result, the university education
is one of the criteria for becoming gainfully employed.
From
another stance, academic achievements demonstrate individuals’ intelligence and
self-discipline to a certain extent. Being impressed by the employees’
qualification attained, in comparison to those employees without tertiary
education, employers are inclined to interview those candidates possessing
superior academic profiles. Hence, university education becomes a competitive
advantage.
Conversely,
a staggering number of individuals claim that experience plays a pivotal role
in judging candidates’ competency on a particular work. To exemplify, sailors
require ample experience in order to guarantee a safe return.
By and large,
it is axiomatic that tertiary education is imperative to individuals to enhance
their competitiveness. To my way of thinking, it is fundamental in attaining a
degree, which allows students to increase the likelihood of becoming gainfully
employed.
